A STAR smog check is a more rigorous smog check that is required for certain vehicles in California. It is designed to identify vehicles that are high polluters.

If your vehicle is a high polluter or has failed a regular smog check, you may be required to get a STAR smog check.

A smog check certificate is valid for 90 days from the date of issue.
